We started with a brief: one silhouette, made well, in numbered runs. A pair-of-shoes answer to a market drowning in models. Cut in Tokyo's Asakusa district by hands that have made shoes for forty years. Finished in Berlin.
Every colorway is a conversation with the same object. The shape never changes. The story is in the leather.
Italian-tanned 1.4mm calfskin. Drum-tumbled 72 hours for a hand-feel softened before it ships.
Cut on the FS-1 last in Asakusa. Slim through the waist, generous at the toe box.
Cup-soled XS Grounder, hand-stitched 360 degrees through a leather midsole.
Vegetable-tanned pigskin lining. Breaks in to the foot. Patinas with wear.

Scarcity is not a marketing tactic. It is a production limit. Every colorway is the run we can ship from one workshop, in one season, without compromising the leather, the last, or the hand. When it's gone, it's gone.
We answer to no quarter. We do not produce on demand. We do not restock. We do not chase a silhouette that already exists. THE 001 is the only shoe — until it isn't.
